A better and faster way to refer patients.

Matching patient needs with available mental health specialists.

Arizona Behavioral Health Connections was created to provide referring hospital providers with a single point of access to a full spectrum of behavioral health services in Arizona. We offer referring hospitals, urgent care facilities and free-standing emergency centers ease of access 24/7 to refer patients to any level of mental health care or specialty program within our network of affiliated providers.

One in every eight emergency department visits in the U.S. is related to a mental crisis disorder and/or substance use issue.

The number of Emergency Departments visits related to mental health and substance-use issues continues to increase year over year.  People are seeking urgent medical care for a variety of mental health conditions by turning to local emergency departments which can provide immediate relief and protection but often times end up waiting in EDs for disposition for hours or days.  This populated increase can contribute to “ED boarding” resulting in reduce ED capacity, decreased availability of emergency staff, longer wait times for all patients in waiting rooms, increased patient frustration and increased pressure on staff.

Behavioral Health Connections Arizona specializes in expediting mental health treatment placement –  matching individuals to clinically proven treatment programming across the state and has created a centralized referral center to receive case referrals for placement within our treatment network of care.  Our coordination of care means fast throughput of individuals in Emergency Departments into the most appropriate treatment facility, ensuring prompt transfers and access to care.

Our mental health placement options include:

Inpatient Treatment

Drug and Alcohol Use Detox

Intensive Residential Care

Partial Hospitalization and Intensive Outpatient Services
